Welcome to Cowboy Boots Now

Welcome to Cowboy Boots Now!  I originally started this site when I searched all over the Internet for cowboy boots fashion advice and tips, and finding very little of it.  Sure, there were plenty of sites to buy your boots, but they offered no advice on what types of outfits the boots would go with, the best boots under a certain dollar amount, or what the hottest new boots of the year were.  I wanted to change that.

I am going to work hard every single day to make Cowboy Boots Now the most comprehensive cowboy boots site around.  You will find comparisons between different brands, dozens of reviews of the most popular brands of boots, and many more helpful articles about cowboy boots.  Have a look around!

Comparing the Prices of Ariat Boots and Dan Post Boots

When you buy boots as frequently as I do, it really pays off long-term to know what the average price range of the different brands are ahead of time.  If I am looking to spend more money and get more of a luxury boot, I know exactly which brands I am going to be checking out first.  To do this, I constantly compare the prices of different brands.  In this article, I will be going over the prices of the boots from Ariat and the boots from Dan Post.  Both of these brands are well-known and popular, so there should be quite a bit of information to go over.

Ariat Men’s Boots vs. Dan Post Men’s Boots

After checking various websites, I began to notice a trend on the non-sale price of the boots.  First off, the prices of the Ariat Men’s cowboy boots had quite a wide range.

  • The lowest priced pair of Ariat cowboy boots on their website was the Heritage Roper, and they were $139.95
  • The most expensive pair of Ariat boots was the Latigo Belly Caiman, priced at $499.95
  • The majority of the boots were in the $150-200 price range

The Dan Post Men’s cowboy boots also had a pretty wide range, but not as wide as the Ariat boots.

  • The lowest-priced pair was the Dan Post Snip Toe Leather boots at $100.77
  • The highest-priced pair was the Dan Post Full Quill Ostrich boots at $379.99
  • There was a nice selection of boots in that $100.77-379.99 range, with a wide selection at almost every price level

The main thing I took away from this price comparison was how similar these brands of cowboy boots were, not only in the prices, but the selection as well.  They both offer boots that are great for the novice boot-wearer, as well as boots for the person who knows they want to spend $400-500 on a pair of boots.  The Dan Post boots were ever so slightly cheaper than the Ariat ones, but not by much.

Ariat Women’s Boots vs. Dan Post Women’s Boots

The differences between the men’s and women’s boot prices weren’t too noticeable.  Ariat had by far the bigger amount of boots available for women, with over 100.

  • The lowest-priced boot was the Fatbaby at $89.95
  • The most expensive boot was the Women’s Latigo Belly Caiman at $539.95

There were only 14 different types of women’s cowboy boots on the Dan Post website.

  • The cheapest pair was the Dan Post Dirty Bull Ankle Boots at $149.99
  • The Dan Post Black Junction Ostrich Cowgirl Boots were the most expensive at $299.99

As we can quickly see, the difference between the Ariat and Dan Post Women’s boots is much more noticeable.  Ariat has by far the larger selection.  If you are a woman looking for a new, fresh pair of boots, it is pretty obvious to me that Ariat is the place you would want to check out first.  Whether you are looking for a pair of boots under $100, or a luxurious pair of boots over $500, Ariat will be able to satisfy your needs.

I hope this article was at least some help to people wondering about the prices of two different popular brands of boots.  Of course, many places have sales, so the prices might not be the same as the ones listed here.  Have a great time finding that next pair of boots!

Dan Post Women’s Flat Iron Boot Review and Opinions

I will be reviewing a pair of boots I have owned for a few months now, the Dan Post Women’s Flat Iron boots.  As any veteran boot-wearer knows, Dan Post is a well-known maker of fine western boots.  I now own three pairs of Dan Post boots, and they get plenty of regular wear.  I will go through all the key points of the Flat Iron boots.

Appearance

First off, these Dan Post Flat Iron boots are only 7″ tall, which is quite a bit shorter than the usual 10″-12″ you see with many boots.  That means they are a nice change of pace from the others, unique and original.  If you are a lady who has been a little hesitant to buy a pair of boots because you think they will make you stand out too much, the Flat Iron boots would be a great introduction into the world of boots.  The boots are available in four different colors – Bay Dirty Bull Kidd (brown), Black, Red, and Tan Mad Cat.  I honestly thought all of the colors were gorgeous and unique in their own way, but I ended up settling on the Bay Dirty Bull Kidd ones, because I needed another pair of brown boots.  I would say the best way of describing the way these boots look is that they are beautiful, good-looking boots, without trying too hard.  Far too often I see boots with all sorts of glitter and ugly stitching that would be much better off without it.  The Flat Iron boots are more simple and traditional, while still looking stunning.

Comfort

The Dan Post Women’s Flat Iron boots definitely fit true to size.  I normally wear a size 7.5, ordered a 7.5, and they fit perfectly.  The boots are tremendously comfortable.  Imagine your most comfortable pair of regular shoes, multiply that comfort level by about 4, and you arrive at the Dan Post Women’s Flat Iron boots.  And for those of you familiar with boots, you will know how rare it is to find a pair of boots that are truly comfortable.

Price

The price of shoes and boots is usually quite dynamic.  With that being said, the price range of these Flat Iron boots is generally going to range from$140-180.  Anything less than that is a steal;  anything more is probably a little too expensive.  I bought mine right at $160, but I can honestly say I would be happy with these boots even if I had paid $50 more.  It’s hard to put a price tag on the satisfaction from owning a great pair of wonderful, high-quality boots.

Durability

Since I have only owned the boots for a few months, I can’t say how well they are going to hold up long-term.  I did read some reviews where people mentioned that their Flat Iron boots had been extremely durable over a few year period.  I will say that I have worn my boots while riding and doing other dirty work, and that they have looked like new afterwards, as well as keeping my feet comfortable throughout.  If my other Dan Post boots are any indication, these boots are going to last a long, long time.

Well, hopefully I covered the key points that everyone wants to hear about before buying a new pair of boots.  I have been extremely satisfied with my purchase of the Dan Post Flat Iron boots.  They would definitely be one of my top recommendations if someone asked me which pair of boots they should buy for themselves or a girlfriend/wife/daughter/any lovely lady.

Cheap Cowboy Boots – Where to Find Discounted Boots

Let’s be honest – everybody loves a great deal.  I know some of my friends only buy things that they can find on sale.  They were big into using coupons before shows like “Extreme Couponing” made it a national obsession.  Personally, I have never been one to seek out good deals and buy solely on that.  I buy things when I want them and where they are convenient for me to buy them.  However, with regards to cowboy boots, I generally DO tend to seek out deals.  That is because it is pretty darn easy to find great deals quite often, and cowboy boots aren’t exactly inexpensive, so it makes sense to look for discounted boots as often as possible.  Whether you are looking for cheap cowboy boots for kids, men, or women, I think these places will be of great value for you…

  1. Amazon – Yes, the most obvious website in the world, but you really can’t beat their combination of customer service, quick shipping, good selection, and easy-to-use site.  I have been using Amazon for years, and have never had one problem with them.  Whether you are looking for discounted boots or other clothes or accessories to match the boots, Amazon is sure to have it and deliver to you quickly.
  2. BootBarn.com – A great site with a HUGE selection of boots.  BootBarn offers free shipping all boots, which is a nice little perk.  There is a red SALE button on the main navigation bar that makes it incredibly easy to see which boots are on sale at that given time.  They have all the popular brands of cowboy boots, so it is a nice and simple process finding the boots you want.
  3. CountryOutfitter.com – I have found dozens of discounted boots here.  CountryOutfitter, like BootBarn, has all the popular brands.  Their website is smooth and good-looking, which makes the boot-buying process much more pleasurable.
  4. Cavenders.com – Another highly recommended site for buying your cowboy boots.  They offer free shipping on all orders over $50.  Cavender’s has perhaps the largest selection of any site I have seen, which makes it much easier to find the deals on the boots you want the most!

Well, there you have it – my favorite places to find and buy discounted boots!  I am sure some of the places were obvious, and hopefully some of the others were diamonds in the rough that you hadn’t heard of before.  It took me a long time of searching before I finally had a good core list of sites to find quality, cheap cowboy boots.  There are other sites like Zappos where you know you are going to get world-class customer service, yet cheap prices is not one of the things they are known for.  Hope you find some low-priced boots you love on one of these sites!

Laredo Men’s Roper 10″ Boot Review and Opinions

If you are in the market for a sleek new pair of boots, look no further than the Laredo Men’s Roper 10″ boots.  Available in five colors – black, brown, tan, black and brown, and oily rust – these boots really pack a punch I rarely see in the world of cowboy boots.  I have owned my brown pair of Laredo Ropers for almost 2 years now, so I am very familiar with them.  I will cover all the important areas people want to know about before making a purchase.

Looks/Appearance

Sometimes, the simpler things in life are the best things.  That saying definitely applies to these boots – there is nothing extravagant about them at all, but they are just really good-looking boots.  If you are looking for fancy, flashy, over-the-top boots, these are not for you.  But if you want some simple, classic, easy-on-the-eyes cowboy boots, these are a sure-fire hit for you.  I am, by my very nature, a pretty easy-going guy who appreciates the finer things in life, and these boots are a dream come true.  There is not one thing I would change about the way these boots look.

Comfort

Now we arrive at the most important (in my opinion) aspect of a great boot – the comfort level.  I have bought many boots in the past that looked great on the outside, only to be let down tremendously when I put them on and they terrorized my feet.  Thankfully, these Laredo Roper boots are among the most comfortable I have ever had the pleasure of wearing.  I have worn them for hours riding without any blisters or pain afterwards.  I even wore them to my family reunion, where I was playing baseball with the little ones and standing up the whole time, and again my feet felt great.

Durability

It is obvious right off the bat that these Laredo Roper boots are high-quality and very well-made.  I have worn them every week over the past 20 months, and they are still just as sturdy as they were the day I bought them.  I don’t know how Laredo makes their boots or what materials they use, but the other brands really need to take notice and do things in a similar way.  All three pairs of Laredo boots I own are fantastic, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them last 10+ years.

I can safely say the Laredo Men’s Roper 10″ boots are one of my favorite pairs of boots I own.  If I am struggling to find an outfit for a night on the town, I often just grab these boots and find something that matches up with them, because I know it always ends up looking great.  I know everyone who buys these will be extremely satisfied.  The price is right and they deliver in all the key categories, what’s not to love?!
